Important: This Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. • Listing Information: Photos and videos you upload of vehicles, written descriptions of your posted items, prices, vehicle conditions, specifications, history (damage, repairs, provenance), etc.

• Communications: All messages with other users or with us sent through the Salvek messaging service or directly to Salvek.

• Identification and Verification: Government-issued identification documents (such as driver's licenses), or any other information necessary for identity verification in trust and safety programs (if applicable).

• Any other information you choose to provide on the Service.

 

B. Information We Collect Automatically When You Use the Service: When you access or use the Salvek Service, we automatically collect information about you and your device, including:

• Usage and Log Information: We log information about your use of the Service, including the type of browser you use, access times, pages or listings viewed, features used, IP (Internet Protocol) address, and the page you visited before navigating to our Service. We also log searches performed on the Service.

• Device Information: We collect information about the computer or mobile device you use to access the Service, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers (UDID), advertising identifiers, and mobile network information.

• Location Information: If you consent to the collection of location information from your mobile device, we may collect this information precisely (using GPS, Wi-Fi, or cellular tower data) or approximately (inferred from your IP address) when you access or use the Service. This information is used for location-based services (e.g., displaying "nearby vehicles") or for analytics.

Information We Collect from Third Parties: Occasionally, we may obtain information about you from other sources and combine it with information we collect through the Salvek Service to enhance our ability to serve you, prevent fraudulent transactions, tailor our content and advertising to you, and offer you opportunities to purchase products or services that we believe may be of interest to you, and for any other purposes described in this Privacy Policy. For example, if you create or log into your account through a social media site (like Google or Facebook), we will have access to certain information from that site, such as your name, account information, and friends lists, in accordance with the authorization procedures determined by such social media site. We may also receive transaction information from third-party payment service providers (such as PayPal, Stripe, Wix Payments) when you purchase or sell items using the payment solution integrated with the Service, including the date and time of sale, the sale amount, transaction status, and other relevant transaction details, but we do not collect or store your sensitive credit card or bank account information; this is collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processors. We may also obtain information from public sources, such as government databases or public records, for identity verification and fraud prevention purposes.

• Service Operation: To verify your login information, allow you to access and use the Salvek Service, personalize the Service, and optimize the location and type of offers presented to you. This includes enabling features, preventing fraud, implementing security measures, ensuring server uptime, minimizing app crashes, improving scalability and performance, and providing customer support.

• Connecting Users: To connect you with other users on the Service (via friends lists or chat/messaging functionalities) when authorized by you.

• Trust and Safety: To create and maintain a trusted and safer environment on the Service, including through the detection and prevention of fraud, unauthorized access, intrusion, and service interruption. This may include performing checks against various publicly available databases.

• Analytics and Improvement: To perform analytics, conduct research, and monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with the Salvek Service. This helps us evaluate user behavior, understand the effectiveness of existing features, and plan new functionalities.

• Service and Support Communications: To send you service, support, and administrative messages, reminders, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and information requested by you.

• Promotional Communications and Developer's Marketing: To communicate with you about products, services, offers, promotions, rewards, and events offered by Salvek and others. This may include sending marketing communications directly to our users and displaying our own advertising within the application.

• Product Personalization: To personalize what you see, such as a list of recommended vehicles, posts, or suggestions.

• Legal Compliance and Agreement Enforcement: To comply with our legal obligations or requests from law enforcement agencies, resolve any disputes we may have with any of our users, and enforce our agreements with third parties.

• Business Acquisition: In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company.

• Sharing Among Affiliates: Between and among Salvek, and its current and future parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and other companies under common control and ownership.

We may share the information we collect about you in the following situations:

• With the Public: When you post on the Salvek Service (e.g., by listing a vehicle for sale, your username and vehicle details will be publicly visible).

• With Other Users: When communicating with other users through the Service's messaging.

• With Third-Party Service Providers: With vendors, consultants, and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf (including, without limitation, third-party service providers that may use the information we share to help us and other companies detect inaccurate personal information and prevent fraudulent transactions, analytics services, hosting, etc.).

• With Third-Party Payment Processors: When signing up to receive or send electronic payments via third-party services (like PayPal, Stripe, Wix Payments), we will share certain information about you with them (e.g., name, IP address) as directed by you to use their services. This information is in addition to the information collected directly by them (as described in Section 1.C. above).

• For Advertising and Marketing Purposes (Developer's and, in the future, Third-Party): To help us deliver relevant advertising to you on the Salvek Service, and in the future, to integrate third-party advertising or share data with entities that will display advertising to our users (if you authorize it). This also includes using information for analytics and data tracking, determining the popularity of certain content, and delivering advertising and content targeted to your interests on the Salvek Service and other online platforms.

• In Response to Legal Requests: In response to a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with any applicable law, regulation, or legal process, or as otherwise required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation.

• To Protect Our Rights: If we believe your actions are inconsistent with the spirit or language of our user agreements or policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Salvek or others.

• In Business Transfers: In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company.

• Among Affiliates: Between and among Salvek, and its current and future parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and other companies under common control and ownership.

• With Your Consent or at Your Direction: Including as mentioned in the Social Sharing Features section below or if we otherwise notify you through the Salvek Service that the information you provide will be shared in a particular manner and you provide such information.

   

• We may also share aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

   

 

4. Advertising and Analytics Services Provided by Others

 

We may allow partners like Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads) and other third-party analytics and advertising service providers to serve advertisements on the Salvek Service, on our behalf across the Internet, and to provide us with analytics services. These entities may use cookies, ad tags, web beacons, and other technologies to collect information about your use of the Salvek Service and other websites and online services, including your IP address, device identifier, web browser, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, and conversion information. Information collected by these service providers may be used by Salvek and others to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, deliver advertising and content targeted to your interests on the Salvek Service and other websites and online services, and better understand your online activity. Your mobile device operating system may also include a feature that allows you to opt out of having certain information collected through apps used for behavioral advertising purposes. Third-Party Advertising: In the future, we may integrate third-party advertising into our Service, which would involve advertising partners collecting data about your interaction with ads and the Service to display personalized advertising to you. This will be done in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations, including, if necessary, obtaining your explicit consent through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.

Salvek is based in Canada, and the service providers we use (such as Wix for the website, Google for analytics and advertising, Stripe/PayPal/Wix Payments for payments, etc.) may operate or have their servers located in the United States or other jurisdictions outside of your country of residence. Therefore, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Canada, the United States, and other countries where our service providers operate.

By accessing or using the Salvek Service or by providing information to us, you consent to the processing and transfer of your information to and within Canada, the United States, and other countries, where data protection laws may not be as comprehensive as those in your jurisdiction. We strive to ensure that your data is protected with the same level of security and privacy as in your country of residence, by implementing appropriate contractual and organizational measures, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) where applicable.

Salvek takes reasonable and appropriate measures, including administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. We protect your privacy by limiting the amount of personally identifiable data we share with third parties. In most cases, we share data that is aggregated or anonymized. When we need to share identifiable data with third parties, we take steps to ensure that they provide the same level of protection to your data as Salvek provides under this Privacy Policy.

However, please be aware that no data transmission or storage system can guarantee 100% security. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please notify us immediately using the contact information provided below.

 

7. Your Choices and Rights

 

You have certain rights regarding your information.

 

A. Account Information:

Certain materials posted by you, such as reviews or forum postings, may also continue to be publicly available (but not associated with your personal information) on the Service after your Salvek account is canceled.

 

B. Location Information:

• When you first download our mobile app or attempt to use any features that require location information, you will be asked to consent to our collection of this information.

• You may revoke your consent for the collection of location information at any time by changing your preferences in your mobile device's privacy settings or by following the standard uninstall process to remove our mobile application from your device.

• Even if you do not consent to collect precise location from your mobile device, we may use your IP address to infer an approximation of your location when using certain features of the Service.

• The Salvek Service may utilize mapping services from Google Maps/Google Earth, including Google Maps API(s). Your use of these services is subject to Google's terms of service.

 

C. Cookies:

• Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies. Please note that removing or rejecting certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Salvek Service.

 

D. Promotional Communications:

• You may opt out of receiving promotional emails, text messages, and other communications from Salvek by following the "unsubscribe" instructions included in such communications or by making changes in your Salvek account Settings menu. Please note that we may still send you non-promotional or transactional communications, such as those about your account, the Service, or our ongoing business relationships.
